Medicare Prescription Drug Plans

2019 Prescription drug coverage is available to everyone with Medicare, but only through private insurance companies. To obtain coverage, you must join a plan from a private company approved by Medicare. Each plan varies in cost and the specific drugs that are covered in each plan differ.

If you want prescription drug coverage, it’s vital that you sign up for it when you’re first eligible. If you don’t, you may pay a late enrollment penalty. And even if you’re not taking any prescription drugs now, your needs may change as you age.
